- Nocmyr surnames are two words together, i.e. Thornglow, Stormbreak.

Nosalla has the numeric characters of 0-9 and 30 alphabetic characters: A, B, C, CH, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, RR, S, SH, T, TH, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. It is written left to right, and capital letters are distinguished only by a larger type size.
How to use Nosalla/Nosalli: Nocmyr speak Nosalla. It is Nosalli culture for women to wear headscarves.
Culture
- While Earthen Nocmyr had a patriarchal and heteronormative society, the Sialla Nocmyr have adopted a more egalitarian approach, taking after the unisex Crysalla and egalitarian Gannea. Sialla Nocmyr now have a Binormative society.
- Nocmyr have a cultural gender binary, however, yes, transgender, nonbinary, or intersex Nocmyr may exist. They may pursue HRT via monthly potion intake if they so choose.
- While tattooing was typically a practice of royal Earthen Nocmyr, Sialla Nocmyr of any class or origin will tattoo their skin. They do not tattoo their scales like Crysalla.
- Nocmyr will often have piercings, most commonly one or multiple earrings!
Clothing
- Nocmyr women wear headscarves for religious reasons, which may vary by culture, from simple headscarves to fullbody veils. Headcoverings are worn behind the horns and ears, allowing some hair to show. Areligious Nocmyr or nonbinary Nocmyr may forgo their headscarves, though it's frowned upon. There is no legal enforcement of this practice. They begin wearing headscarves at 150.
- Nocmyr clothing features slits in the back for their wings, and front and back panels with buttons to allow for the tail. Nocmyr clothing is enchanted to shift with the Nocmyr between true and half forms, due to the size differences.
- Nocmyr will always wear pants, including under dresses. Nocmyr pants are paneled and buttoned in the front and back, to facilitate removal and allow for the tail. The tail button rests above the tail, creating a high waisted appearance. Pants extend down the shin, ending at the heel. Nocmyr do not wear shoes.
life
- Nocmyr often practice polygamy, and live in large, multigenerational households. While Earthen Nocmyr typically practiced polgyny alone, Sialla Nocmyr will practice polygamy of either gender. These polygamous marriages are typically for life, unless divorced.
- Because Nocmyr often have multiple spouses, and those spouses may have additional spouses, stepfamilies are very common and considered the same as blood relatives.
- Nocmyr are what can only be described as “aggressively social”. They form tight pair bonds and have extensive networks of family and friends, even with the other species of Siablan. They become depressed and distressed when solitary. Antisocial Nocmyr are unusual.
- Nocmyr are highly protective of their children, of which a single Nocmyr may have tens of over their lifetime.
laws and society
- Royal Nocmyr families maintain their kingdoms, though they hail to Crysalla Patrons.
- Nocmyr are more likely to form romantic/sexual relationships and interbreed with Crysalla and Gannea than Gannea and Crysalla do with one another. However, most Gannea dislike Nocmyr’s polygamous marital habits, and relationship problems may arise.
- Nocmyr keep various pets, beasts of burden, and livestock and cultivate various plant species previously domesticated by the Gannea and Crysalla.
- Nocmyr don’t have a culture with sexual violence or incestuous practices. This includes stepfamilies. Don’t do that.
- Because Nocmyr have large families, and are against incest, they do not have romantic/sexual relations within three generations of blood relation (i.e. Siblings, Half-Siblings, First Cousins, Second Cousins, Third Cousins), two generations of step relation (i.e. Step-Siblings, Step-First Cousins), or one generation of in-laws, (i.e. Sibling-in-Law, Parent-in-Law).
- Nocmyr have adopted the Gallan currency system of copper, silver, and gold coins. 10 coppers = 1 silver, 10 silver = 1 gold. Due to a widespread lack of minting and legal power, coins are not a standardized size or quality. Counterfeit or merely plated coins are a rampant issue. Nocmyr have difficulty trading with Crysalla, who value precious metals by amount and their ability to be used as smithing material, and it can cost tens to hundreds of Gallan coins to purchase one item from a Crysalla.
diet and habitat
- Nocmyr may choose to eat their meat raw or cooked based on mood and preference.
- Nocmyr of any human phenotype can live anywhere on Siablan. Remember; they didn’t evolve here!
EDUCATION
Emperor Rin highly values education; having completed all quintinary levels of his own on Gaella. The Sialla Nocmyr are no different, and every settlement will have a school of some sort.
- Nocmyr school grades are roughly 50 years each, beginning at the age of 50, consisting of primary 50-100 (elementary), secondary 100-150 (middle), tertiary 150-200 (high), and quaternary 200-250 (college) level courses.
- Nocmyr schools teach a variety of subjects, including combat, all four types of magic use, math, science, history, reading, writing, arts, religion, language, and social studies. Schools of tertiary-quaternary levels will also offer trade programs directly; assigning a class to a master to apprentice under (for example, smithing).
RELIGION
Most Nocmyr have adapted to the Sialla culture entirely, worshiping the four Gods. However, while Crysalla worship a single higher God, the Nocmyr are polytheistic, worshiping and erecting temples to all four, no matter the domain they reside.
Few Nocmyr follow the Earthen religion, which has a pantheon of nine elemental gods. The old religion remains in use amongst those of East’s domain, and the mythology of them is still told as bedtime stories and history lessons. The belief in the nine varies between Nocmyr population; the most ardent traditionalists keep the idea that they created Siablan as well as the Earth, and the Crysalla Gods are only mortals, others regard them as truthful, they believe they only created the Earth, others believe them to be merely fantastical mythos to be passed down to their children, and others deride them as false gods, for the Crysalla Gods are real and tangible.
These gods are as follows, and are called the Old Gods by the Nocmyr;
- Zihrun - Goddess of Light, Day, and Sun
- Zuriel - Goddess of Nature, Agriculture, and Love
- Arariel - Goddess of Water, Ocean, and Music
- Sylvestria - God of Wind, Sky, and Weather
- Theria - Goddess of Ice, Animals, and Art
- Kyllene - God of Earth, Family, and Wisdom
- Decarabia - God of Fire, War, and Medicine
- Malphas - God of Plague, Death, and Dreams
- Azrael - Goddess of Darkness, Night, and Moon
