defenses
Gannea have little in the way of natural defenses. They have hollow skeletons, are extremely prone to breaking their bones. Gannea survive on their speed, agility, and ingenuity. A Gannea’s main asset is their extremely adept hearing, and constant awareness of their surroundings.
- A Gannea is armed with sharp claws and fangs that they can use in close combat.
- A Gannea may use any of their five magic types in combat.
- Projectile weapons are favored by Gannea. Bows, crossbows, spears, etc. Anything that will keep distance from an aerial attacker. Flaming arrows and quarrels are especially effective.
- Gannea also employ simple machinery such as the catapult, trebuchet, and scorpion bolt.
- Gannea smith multiple melee weapons, primarily of iron due to its anti-magical properties, or enchanted steel. Polearms are extremely effective against a terrestrial enemy.

Gannea are capable of using five different types of Magic.
- Over expenditure of magic can negatively impact a Gannea’s health. They will likely pass out from exhaustion, and begin bleeding from their orifices. A Gannea can be unconscious for anywhere from an hour to a several week coma, depending on how much mana they have spent.
Innate magic
- Innate Magic cannot be manipulated easily. It can often be released unintentionally when feeling strong emotions, and comes in a burst of energy, not a spell. An example would be telekinesis, releasing a blast of power that will knock anyone and anything back, or healing a wound shut.
genetic magic
- Genetic Magic is the result of a mutation in a Gannea's magical genes. There are nine known genetic magical mutations, they often skip generations. These are Metacreativity, Skinchanging, Illusion, Charmspeak, Shapeshifting, Empathy, Mindreading, Dreamwalking, and Precognition.
LEARNED MAGIC
- Learned magic is spoken through Sialli or Gallan spells. It can be conducted in any way. An example would be enchanting a figurine to move on its own, making an object teleport, or summoning an object.
disciplinary magic
- Disciplinary magic is a combination of innate and learned magic, however it does not use spells. All Gannea have the ability to learn how to conduct disciplinary magic, if they are taught to do so. Disciplinary magic is very difficult to perform, and requires mental acuity. An example would be telepathy, mind control, or divination.
elemental magic
- Elemental magic is the control over one or multiple element granted by Gannea's magical genes. It is innate, but must be studied and practiced diligently in order to master. This most commonly manifests in various elemental affinities or abilities. An example would be elemental manipulation, such as summoning light or flames.
- There are nine magical elements. Light, Nature, Water, Air, Ice, Earth, Fire, Plague, and Dark. These elements can be manipulated by Gannea. Ability to manipulate multiple elements is a mutation.
